Drake Athletics at Water’s Edge is Traverse City’s ONLY competitive All Star Cheer program.
Drake Athletics was inspired by Drake Tester, a member of Edge All Star in 2016. We discovered Drake at an open gym, where his parkour skills left us in awe. He quickly became one of the most inspiring athletes we had ever met.
Drake was the epitome of kindness and joy. He loved life, sought adventure in every moment, and encouraged everyone around him to do the same. His positivity was contagious, and he had a unique ability to turn any bad situation into a positive one.
Tragically, we lost Drake to a seizure. His passing was a devastating blow to our team and everyone who knew him. The void left by his absence was immense, but his memory and legacy continue to inspire us every day.
It took years for us to heal enough, but we have finally brought our dream to life by creating a program in his honor. We aim for every athlete who walks through our doors to learn about Drake’s legacy from those who knew him best.
The phrase “Do it like Drake” emerged after his passing, symbolizing his approach to life—embracing every day with integrity and love.
